U.S. VP Kamala Harris on Tuesday dismissed a greeting from Florida Lead representative Ron DeSantis to examine the state's new Dark History educational plan and said she won't discuss the subject of servitude with him.
DeSantis, who is running for the 2024 conservative official selection, on Monday welcomed Harris to Florida to examine the state's new Dark history educational plan after the VP reprimanded it for sponsorship rules that she said instructed "revisionist history" about subjection in the US.
Florida's leading body of training supported new rules in July, including one for center school understudies that states "guidance incorporates how slaves created abilities which, in certain occasions, could be applied for their own advantage."
On Tuesday, Harris, made a formerly planned discourse in the state, telling the crowd, "Indeed, I'm here in Florida. I will tell you, there is no roundtable, no talk, no greeting we will acknowledge to discuss an obvious truth: There were no saving graces of subjugation."
